Kingdom Fungi is a kingdom of
Domain Eukarya. There are 4 phyla in this kingdom:
Basidomycota,
Ascomycota,
Deutromycota, and
Zygomycota. Organisms of kingdom Fungi are Eukaryotic and heterotrophic. The organisms of Kingdom Fungi exchange gases underground using hyphae, which are extensive, hair-like roots, by exchanging gases in the airpockets of soil. However, some exception occur. For example: yeast goes through aerobic respiration when oxygen is available, but goes through the process of fermentation and anaerobic respiration when there is a lack of oxygen. Organisms of Kingdom Fungi reproduce sexually and asexually. Digestion is extracellular. An example of an organism of Kingdom Fungi is
Amanita phalloides or more commonly known as the Death Cap. Another example is yeast.
