Phylum Ascomycota

Phylum Ascomycota is a Phylum of Kingdom Fungi. The defining characteristics of Phylum Ascomycota is that the sexual reproduction cells are either found in ascospores or, if they reproduce asexual, on conidia. An example of an organism of Phylum Ascomycota is Saccharomyces cerevisiae, better known as yeast. S. cerevisiae is used by bakers and chefs as well as by breweries.
